Sunset Boulevard

A bold visual rhythm pulses through Sunset Boulevard—an abstract homage to one of Los Angeles’ most iconic thoroughfares. Created in 2020 by Jessus Hernandez, this original mixed media work captures the electric energy and layered complexity of the city through vivid color blocks, dynamic geometric forms, and sweeping architectural lines.

Painted with acrylic, aerosol, and gesso on wood, Hernandez’s piece feels in motion—like the boulevard itself—blurring the line between movement and structure, dreamscape and map. Bright tones of orange, turquoise, fuchsia, and mint green intersect with linear precision, conjuring a vision of urban life at sunset filtered through a modernist, streetwise lens.
