"DARKNESS & LIGHT - is the inaugural piece in the DARKNESS & LIGHT Collection, a series that unfolds throughout 2025 with one captivating piece released each month. Captured in the mountainous region of Andalucia near Gaucin, this dramatic photograph transports viewers to a morning where the interplay of light and shadow created a breathtaking scene.
The early sunlight pierced through clouds, casting shards of brilliance over the rugged terrain while leaving deep mysterious shadows in areas untouched by the light. This dynamic contrast evokes a sense of awe and intensity, reflecting not only the striking natural beauty but also the global tension of early 2021, when the image was captured. The piece invites viewers to embrace the duality of light and darkness, revealing the profound beauty found in moments of contrast and uncertainty.
Captured in the mountains of Andalucia near Gaucin, DARKNESS & LIGHT reveals the dramatic interplay of light piercing through clouds and casting deep shadows over the rugged terrain. This powerful contrast reflects the heightened global tension of early 2021, embodying the profound beauty found in duality.
DARKNESS & LIGHT captures the striking contrast of light and shadow reflecting the beauty of duality. A visual meditation on the beauty and balance found within life's inevitable contrasts.
Every element in the piece serves as a metaphor—the stark divisions suggest the inevitability of opposites, while the delicate transitions between them hint at the fluid nature of change and balance. This work is a contemplative exploration of the dualities we encounter daily, offering a meditative pause for the soul. DARKNESS & LIGHT is more than an image; it is an invitation to find beauty and meaning in the contrasts that shape our world.
DARKNESS & LIGHT captures the intricate interplay between shadows and illumination, inviting the viewer into a realm where opposites coexist in harmony. The composition is layered with subtle details that emerge slowly, much like light breaking through the darkness. Deep, velvety blacks contrast with radiant highlights, creating a visual tension that mirrors the complexities of life itself.

About the artist

I create fine art photography that captures moments of stillness and significance, quiet invitations to reflect, recalibrate, and reconnect.
My work is rooted in a deep understanding of the human need for relief and recovery. This comes not only from the natural world I often photograph, but also from my background as a practitioner of neuroscience, where I’ve spent years helping people shift into calmer, more creative, and more constructive states of mind. Each piece I make is an extension of that mission, an opportunity to help others operate from a better, more constructive place..
Many of my photographs touch on a specific moment in time, with historical and social relevance woven into their imagery. Whether it’s a solitary architectural form, the abstraction of water, or the celestial symbolism of the moon, my pieces often reflect the global atmosphere or mood of the moment in which they were captured.
Printed primarily on brushed aluminium, silver or gold, my images are designed to interact with the light around them, shifting and transforming as the day moves. This immersive quality creates space for reflection and visual meditation. There is a quiet therapeutic intent in every work.
My collections explore themes of contrast and cohesion, darkness and light, solitude and connection. While deeply personal, I hope they also resonate universally, offering a pause, a perspective, and a sense of something bigger.
