About The Artwork

CONTEMPLATION captures 2020's ethereal dance between shadows and light, where the youth stood poised at life's threshold, only to find the music paused. Dive into its depths and touch the soul of a poignant era.
In the year 2020, following the suffocating grip of the first lockdown, we briefly tasted the nectar of freedom once again. We journeyed to Spain – a sojourn not just of place but of soul, to witness, explore, and heal.
CONTEMPLATION is more than a piece of art. It is a silent ode to the youth of that era – the teenagers and young adults who were caught in the stormy crosswinds of global upheaval. For them, this period wasn't just challenging; for some, it was insurmountably devastating. They stood at the threshold of life's grand ballroom, ready to dance, to love, to discover, only to be told the music had stopped. The resilience we expect of age hadn’t yet been woven into their spirits. Yet, when the world opened its doors in July 2020, even if just a crack, the experience was nothing short of ethereal. It was a moment in time, surreal and unparalleled, filled with play, introspection, adventure, and above all, contemplation.
CONTEMPLATION captures this dichotomy of emotion. It oscillates between shadows and luminescence, evoking an otherworldly, meditative trance. Within its depths, you'll find a blend of the mystique and the tangible, the agony and the ecstasy. Dive into its layers and perhaps, just perhaps, you'll touch the soul of that poignant time.

About the artist

I create fine art photography that captures moments of stillness and significance, quiet invitations to reflect, recalibrate, and reconnect.
My work is rooted in a deep understanding of the human need for relief and recovery. This comes not only from the natural world I often photograph, but also from my background as a practitioner of neuroscience, where I’ve spent years helping people shift into calmer, more creative, and more constructive states of mind. Each piece I make is an extension of that mission, an opportunity to help others operate from a better, more constructive place..
Many of my photographs touch on a specific moment in time, with historical and social relevance woven into their imagery. Whether it’s a solitary architectural form, the abstraction of water, or the celestial symbolism of the moon, my pieces often reflect the global atmosphere or mood of the moment in which they were captured.
Printed primarily on brushed aluminium, silver or gold, my images are designed to interact with the light around them, shifting and transforming as the day moves. This immersive quality creates space for reflection and visual meditation. There is a quiet therapeutic intent in every work.
My collections explore themes of contrast and cohesion, darkness and light, solitude and connection. While deeply personal, I hope they also resonate universally, offering a pause, a perspective, and a sense of something bigger.
