About The Artwork
expand_more
David Gilliver’s Book Stand transforms the ordinary into an imaginative world where literature itself becomes the architecture of life. A towering book becomes both shelter and landscape, with miniature bicycles carefully lined against its pages and tiny figures suggesting moments of pause, anticipation, and quiet interaction. This limited edition photographic print invites viewers to reflect on the symbolic role of books as both journeys and destinations, representing knowledge, community, and escape.
Printed on Olmec Matte Photo Paper 230gsm, the artwork offers a rich, archival-quality finish that enhances its crisp details and playful yet thoughtful atmosphere. Available in multiple sizes, each piece is part of a limited edition of 50, making it a distinctive acquisition for collectors who value both wit and depth in contemporary art.

Fair & Free Shipping
We provide fair shipping for all orders under $500. What’s that mean? When most online retailers provide “free” shipping, they’re actually marking up prices to cover the shipping charge. This often costs you more! We don’t do that. Instead, we charge you exactly what it costs to ship your purchase to you. For all orders over $500, we’re happy to provide free shipping.
Processing & Delivery
Please allow 7-10 business days for your order to be processed and prepared for shipping. Note that delivery times vary depending on where your artwork is shipped from. You can see an approximate delivery range after you input shipping information at checkout. We’ll provide you with tracking info and an estimated delivery date after your order ships.
Returns
We want you to be 100% satisfied with your new artwork. That’s why we give you 14 days from the date you receive your artwork to let us know if it’s not the right fit for you. Contact us during that timeframe, and we’ll get started on your hassle-free return. Review our full Return Policy here.

About the artist

I graduated from the Fine Art Photography (BA Hons) course at the Glasgow School of Art in 2001 and have been working hard to establish myself as a respected professional photographer and artist ever since. I specialise in long-exposure photography (the art of ‘Light Painting’) as well as macro photography (my ‘Little People’ and Toy series).
As well as regularly exhibiting my Artwork here in the UK, I also run regular creative photography Workshops. If you are ever keen on joining me on one of my Workshops do please feel free to check out this section of my website. I try to run at least 1 or 2 group Workshops each month, and I also receive regular bookings from secondary schools across the UK.
I also regularly work on bespoke commissions for clients all over the World. If you have an idea that you feel could benefit from my knowledge in Light Painting or Macro Photography I’d love to hear from you.
