About the artist

I believe our purpose is to serve humanity. And the best way
to do that is to BE WHO WE ARE and not follow other people. The practices of
Honesty of Mind (do what you say and what you think – as opposed to thinking
one thing, then saying something different and then doing something different)
and Detachment (being able to have or not have anything) are very valuable in
finding your purpose in life. These are actually the teachings of Maitreya the
World Teacher, Who has come into the world with a number of His advanced
Disciples (members of our Spiritual Hierarchy) to show us the way forward.
Meditation and Service are the royal roads to spiritual evolution and you can
discern your purpose and your path in life through regular meditation.

I was born with a paintbrush in my hand – the daughter of
two professional artist parents. What can I say – the writing was on the wall.
I am living the classic artists’ life – trying to make it all work with bupkis
in my checking account most of the time. I dream of a world where artists (of
all persuasions) are more respected.

Courage to carry on in the face of opposing forces is very
valuable in learning to be yourself and carry out the job you were meant to do
in your life. It is good to find ways to have faith in yourself and not beat
yourself up over mistakes or failures, because those difficult times provide
the best lessons! Perseverance and focus are also very important attributes to
have in your bag of tricks. These are all things I have learned over the 68
years of my life!

Making enough money from my art career (so that I can
continue to have an art career) has always been the big problem in my life. I
have never made it work, except in fits and starts. Now that I am a senior, I
have decided that I might as well feel honored that I share this classic
problem with so many talented (and many very famous) artists down the ages who
had money problems!
