"Aureate"

Aureate is part of a collection of paintings inspired by the cloud formations I photograph. I am interested in capturing the uncapturable in oil paint and using metal leaf to add the feeling of light showing through the clouds. I often feel the world looks too vivid and pixelated, because of this, I explore how I see color in every cloudscape I paint. The circular motions reference the atmospheric particles and Ice crystals that create every cloud.
