About The Artwork
expand_more
Abel And The Squirrel by Corey Eid is an original 20 × 20 inch charcoal and graphite drawing on watercolor paper. This scene depicts an elderly man immersed in a book while a squirrel curiously explores the breakfast table. The contrast between quiet concentration and playful intrusion creates both charm and narrative depth. With its finely rendered textures and balance of light and shadow, the work suggests themes of companionship, wisdom, and the blending of solitude with unexpected moments of connection. A detailed and symbolic composition, it offers collectors a distinctive piece that unites storytelling with technical mastery.

About the artist

I love drawing people, and I especially love a close-up. When the lens is in close, you can see the truth. As the old saying goes, ‘The eyes are the window to the soul’ and for me, I truly believe that you can pick up on someone’s energy when you stare into their eyes. That is why my main focus as an artist is to bring out, not just the likeness, but the essence of the subject through my drawings.
